While we were camping last weekend, Drake had a birthday! He is 4 years old! He was so excited for his birthday! He wanted a four wheeler cake. Which is kind of cute, since he was turning four! So we made him a cake. All day while camping, he couldn't wait to open presents. He loved his new spiderman bike from Grandma Teresa and Ron, and got that early so we could take it camping. He was really excited about his new little buddy, Roger, who Grandpa Kip & Debbie gave him. He was excited to unwrap the presents from his family. And he was stoked to get a package in the mail from his Grandpa & Grandma Fishy. We are so lucky to have so many wonderful grandparents who spoil our boys rotten! I think Drake enjoyed his birthday!
Drake is a super funny little guy! He has a sense of humor like no child I've ever seen. Sometimes he gets a little too crazy with his teasing, but most of the time it's pretty funny. He loves to do things just because he knows they drive you crazy. He loves to make you laugh. When he's being a stinker and we start tickling him and say, are you going to do that again, he will say no, then as soon as you stop tickling him, he says yes, just because he thinks it's so funny! He plays great with Crew when he wants to, but also really enjoys playing by himself. He is definitely not as social as Crew. But when he's comfortable, he plays great with others. He does not like big crowds of people. He loves being home. Quite often when we're gone somewhere, he'll ask when we can go home. He's a sleeper. Crew is up early, and Drake likes to sleep in. And in the evening if we don't get him in bed soon enough, he'll just go get in bed himself. Drake loves being outside. He'll play outside for hours. He is a great helper in the garden and with yard work. He loves hunting. He told his Dad the other day that his very favorite thing to do in the whole world is hunting. We cannot imagine life without Drake. In-fact, because the boys are so close in age, it seems like it has always been Crew & Drake, the boys! And because of this, Drake is pretty tough. Crew can be a stinker, and gives Drake a hard time, but once Drake has had enough, and if Crew doesn't stop bugging him, he'll find a way to make him stop. Even if it hurts Crew. Drake will tell you if he doesn't like whatever is going on. I never worry about kids picking on Drake. If anything, I worry that he may haul off and punch a kid if they're not being nice. He hasn't ever though.
We love Drake so much. We are so blessed to have him in our family to remind us that life should be fun and enjoyed. Happy Birthday Drake! I can't believe it's been four years since you came into our lives! It has been a wonderful four years! We love you Drakey!
