We have Trees!

So, yes, we still have dirt, a lot of dirt, but we did add some trees to our backyard last week! YAY! It's funny how doing that, which isn't that big of a deal, adds a lot to making it actually feel like a yard. At least the starting of a yard! And the best part is the awesome neighbors who did most of it for us! One of our neighbors owns a tree farm. It's not huge, and doesn't have a ton of selection, but what they do have are great. And they're right next door. So they brought a tractor over and dug a hole with their spade. I had to dig out the bottom of it so it was more flat and not so smooth. Then I put some good old horse manure that another kind neighbor let us have in the bottom then filled them with water. Then they brought their tractor back with the tree in the spade and set the tree into the hole. We had to fill in a little around them and stake them down, but that was it. Pretty easy for trees. And you have to love the soil we have here for things like digging. No rocks! We put in seven trees; three blue spruce, two ponderosa pine, and two ash trees. They are pretty good sized too. Now it's off to working on the rest of the yard! Pretty simple really. We need to level, we want to bring in some landscaping boulders, then put in the sprinkler system, build a mound for some trees and rocks in the front yard, then plant lawn seed, plant the flower beds with plants, and we're done! The list is short, but unfortunately most of the items are pretty big projects!
